Due to adverse weather conditions (thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds), 228 settlements in five regions were completely or partially without power as of this morning. It was reported by Ukrenergo.

The power outages occurred in the Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Kyiv, and Poltava Regions. In each of these regions, repair crews from the regional power companies have already begun restoring the damaged power lines.

Russia continues attacks on the energy sector

As a result of russian drone and artillery strikes, as of this morning, there are new power outages in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Sumy Regions. Where safety conditions currently permit, emergency repair work is already underway.

Consumption

Electricity consumption is trending upward. As of the morning of July 28, it was 6% higher than at the same time the previous day—Monday. The reason for the change is cloudy weather with rain in some regions of Ukraine. This results in low efficiency of residential solar power plants and a corresponding increase in energy consumption from the main grid.

“It is advisable to postpone the use of high-power electrical appliances today until the period when industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently—from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please use electricity wisely,” the energy officials added.

As a reminder, a storm warning has been issued today in some regions due to rain and thunderstorms.
