Russians ban nighttime vessel traffic in port of Novorossiysk due to UAVs - Reuters

Russia, the aggressor nation, has imposed a temporary ban on vessel traffic in the port of Novorossiysk at night due to attacks by Ukrainian drones. Reuters reported this, citing its own sources.

Three unnamed sources told the agency that the russians have prohibited ships from entering or leaving the port between 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. The order was given verbally; no official documents containing such a notice were sent.

They added that after 5:00 a.m. and until midnight, the port operates as usual.

Novorossiysk is the russian federation’s largest port in terms of cargo turnover. About one-third of all russian grain exports pass through it. Oil, petroleum products, metals, and cargo containers are also shipped from here.

Reuters notes that Novorossiysk is currently being considered as a likely destination for grain that is currently being rerouted from ports on the Sea of Azov.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, last Tuesday, July 21, Bloomberg reported that Kazakhstan would suspend shipments of its oil to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) terminal near Novorossiysk, from where it is exported. The decision was made amid Ukraine’s strikes on ships in the Black Sea.

As a reminder, on July 19, the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for an end to strikes on tankers transshipping oil at the CPC terminal.
