Brigade commander of 155th Brigade Luchanov detained in case of kidnapping and murder of Moseychuk brothers
The commander of the 155th Mechanized Brigade Stanislav Luchanov was detained in the case of kidnapping and murder of the Moseychuk brothers in the Kyiv Region.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The President said that the investigation will verify all the circumstances of the case and the actions of those involved.
"Everything they did will be checked in detail. This is a case that concerns more than one community and not just the Kyiv Region. Establishing the full truth and bringing all those responsible to justice is the need of the entire country," Zelenskyy wrote.
The President also reported that the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Mykola Kalashnyk and the Chief of Police of the Kyiv Region Andrii Rubel met with residents of Kalynivka. According to Zelenskyy, the authorities must fulfill all the promises they made to the community during this meeting.
Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko said that during the investigation, the police, together with the prosecutor's office, reviewed dozens of recordings from video surveillance cameras; analyzed the routes of vehicles; identified the cars used by the suspects; collected evidence and recreated the chronology of the crime.
According to Klymenko, it was this evidence that allowed the organized criminal group to be detained.
Luchanov became the tenth suspect in these criminal proceedings.
According to the investigation, the commander of the 155th separate mechanized brigade, Stanislav Luchanov, is suspected of involvement in the kidnapping of two brothers in the Kyiv Region.
According to law enforcement officers, the incident occurred in July 2026. Unknown people forcibly took the men away, after which they were held against their will and demanded that certain conditions be met.
According to journalists, the investigation is checking the version that the motive for the crime was a conflict involving the wife of the commander of the 155th separate mechanized brigade, Stanislav Luchanov. According to this version, after the incident, the brigade commander allegedly ordered his subordinates to punish the men he considered involved in the conflict.
After the investigation began, Luchanov did not appear before law enforcement agencies, which is why he was put on the wanted list. The court also chose a preventive measure in the form of detention in absentia for him.
The operational command North confirmed the information disseminated by the media about the search for the commander of the 155th motorized rifle brigade of the 155th separate mechanized brigade (military unit A5001) Stanislav Luchanov. Currently, he has voluntarily left his place of service.
