In Zaporizhzhia, the protection of municipal transport will be strengthened against the backdrop of regular russian shelling. The city authorities have decided to cover the windows of buses, trams and trolleybuses with a special armored film that will protect passengers from debris and broken glass. This was reported by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov.

As the head of the Regional Military Administration explained, such protective film is already actively used in local hospitals, social protection institutions and administrative buildings. This step is being taken so that windows flying out from a powerful blast wave do not injure city residents inside the cabins.

"We are doing this so that windows that can break from the blast wave do not injure residents," said Ivan Fedorov.

In addition to the modernization of the transport itself, the city is rolling out a large-scale program to create additional safety zones. Large industrial enterprises in the region, with whom the authorities held negotiations last week, have joined the construction of new mobile shelters near bus stops and through factories. The Red Cross will also provide significant support, which has pledged to hand over ten additional shelters in July and another ten by the end of August.

In parallel, anti-drone nets are being installed in crowded places in Zaporizhzhia. According to the head of the region, such a protection system has already proven its effectiveness in practice. In particular, recently in the Kosmichnyi district of the city, a russian drone hit just such an engineering net, which completely neutralized the impact and saved civilian motor transport from damage. This entire set of measures is designed to minimize the consequences of enemy attacks and make people's stay on the streets of the city as safe as possible.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, over 70,000 square meters of anti-drone protection have been installed in Zaporizhzhia.
