AFU General Staff regarding clash with territorial recruitment center in Lviv: inspection is underway to verify legality of actions of center's servicemen

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine condemned the attacks on servicemen of territorial recruitment centers, and at the same time announced that an inspection is underway to verify the legality of the actions of the territorial recruitment centers servicemen in Lviv.

This is stated in a message from the General Staff on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The General Staff notes that the events that occurred in Lviv have signs of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under the legal regime of martial law and calls on law enforcement agencies to ensure a comprehensive, objective and impartial investigation of this case, and to hold the perpetrators accountable in accordance with the requirements of current legislation.

At the same time, the General Staff announced that an official inspection is underway to verify the legality of the actions of the territorial recruitment centers servicemen in Lviv; if violations are established, the perpetrators will be held accountable in accordance with the procedure established by law.

"No disputes regarding the legality of the actions of officials or military personnel can justify the use of violence. The legal assessment of each case should be provided exclusively by authorized state bodies," the General Staff emphasized.

The General Staff emphasizes that protecting the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine is the constitutional duty of Ukrainian citizens.

"Servicemen of the territorial recruitment centers, who carry out alert measures, perform important tasks to ensure the manning of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, on which the state's ability to continue to effectively repel russian aggression directly depends," the message says.

Separately, the General Staff drew attention to the fact that alert measures are carried out by servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, many of whom have combat experience, and not by civilian "employees of the territorial recruitment centers", as they are often mistakenly called.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, a clash between citizens and representatives of the territorial recruitment center in Lviv occurred on the evening of July 8. According to local Telegram channels, the crowd surrounded the territorial recruitment centers's official car, damaged it, and overturned it.
