French President Emmanuel Macron stated that the United States has moved away from its position as a neutral mediator in the war waged by the aggressor country, russia, against Ukraine. Washington now stands shoulder to shoulder with Europe in supporting Kyiv.

Macron made this statement during a joint press conference with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, according to RBC-Ukraine.

According to him, the US has for the first time approved a text stating that Washington is no longer a neutral mediator.

They stand with us on the issues of supporting Ukraine’s territorial integrity, providing military aid, energy support, and sanctions against Russia,” Macron said.

The European Pravda publication reports that Macron, in an interview with the French television channel France 2, noted a shift in US President Donald Trump’s views on the war in Ukraine.

“He arrived thinking that Ukraine was losing. But he changed his mind <...> Yes, a real shift took place during this G7 summit,” Macron said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on June 23, the Financial Times wrote, citing sources, that Trump told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the G7 summit that he was impressed by the recent successes of Ukrainian strikes against russia.

As a reminder, Deutsche Welle’s chief political editor, Michaela Kuefner, wrote that on the sidelines of the G7 summit, Trump acknowledged that russian dictator vladimir putin is in a weaker position than before.
