On the night of June 16, Moscow and the Moscow Oblast were subjected to a massive attack by drones. This was reported by Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin in Telegram.

Local monitoring channels report that the target of the attack could be the Moscow Oil Refinery in the Kapotnya district, which is the largest enterprise of this type in the russian capital.

Sobyanin reported during the night on the active work of air defense systems. According to him, more than 30 drones were allegedly destroyed in the direction of the city.

Despite the official statements of the russian authorities, witnesses and monitoring resources reported numerous drones over the city and its suburbs. In particular, after a series of explosions in the area of the oil refinery in Kapotnya, heavy smoke was recorded. Security measures were introduced at the enterprise, and emergency services worked at the sites of falling debris. Sobyanin also acknowledged that a drone had hit the territory of the Moscow Oil Refinery in the Kapotnya district.
