Mushroom cloud formed near Belgorod after russian ammunition depot explosion

A powerful explosion rocked the Belgorod Oblast in the aggressor country of russia on Monday, June 8. According to unconfirmed reports, it may have been caused by a strike by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The russian online publication "Pepel Belgorod" reported this, citing sources.

The explosion occurred around 4:00 p.m. Kyiv time near the village of Belovskoye. It is located a few kilometers east of Belgorod.

Local residents posted several videos and photos after the explosion. They show a mushroom-shaped cloud of smoke, the size of which indicates the explosion’s great force.

The publication reports that initially, a theory circulated online that the explosion was caused by an aircraft bomb that “accidentally fell” from one of the russian planes.

It later turned out that the explosion occurred at a russian military ammunition depot. The publication released a satellite image showing that the site of the explosion contains military equipment, construction materials, and fortified positions.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the aggressor country russia was forced to suspend passenger train service in occupied Crimea due to a drone attack overnight on June 8.
