Ukrainian market of new passenger cars decreased by 18% in May - UkrAutoprom

In May, Ukrainians purchased 5,500 new passenger cars, which is 18% less than in May 2025 and 11% less than in April 2026.

This is stated in a report by the UkrAutoprom association, according to the Ukrainian News agency.

The most popular brand of the month was Japan’s Toyota, whose car sales fell by 29% compared to May of last year.

The top 10 for the month included: Toyota – 745 units (-29%); Skoda – 516 units (+9%); Renault – 485 units (-19%); Volkswagen – 380 units (-38%); BMW – 320 units (-1%); BYD – 312 units (-18%); Hyundai – 301 units (-13%); Mazda – 283 units (-5%); Nissan – 238 units (+18%); and Audi – 181 units (-28%).

The best-selling model of the month was the RENAULT Duster compact crossover.

A total of 27,000 new passenger cars have been sold in the country since the beginning of the year, which is only half a percent more than during the same period last year.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in April, the largest regional markets for new passenger cars in Ukraine were the city of Kyiv and the Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Lviv Regions.
