Romanian President warns russia: strikes on Ukraine should not threaten Romanians
Romanian President Nicușor Dan has said that russia must be sure that its actions do not pose a threat to Romanian residents when it attacks Ukrainian cities near the Danube. He issued the warning after russian drones flew into the country.
He made the remarks in an interview with the BBC.
The Romanian President admitted that about 20-30 drones without explosives had flown into the country in the past two years. And just a month ago, a drone with an unexploded warhead landed in Romania.
The Romanian President stressed that such incidents pose a danger to residents of Romanian cities.
"This becomes dangerous for residents of Romanian cities. Therefore, when the russians target cities on the other side of the Danube, they must be sure that they will not cause injuries to Romanians. This is a warning to the russian side," Dan said.
The President also noted that russia must take into account the safety of the Romanian population during strikes on Ukrainian cities located on the other side of the Danube.
What is known about the fall of a russian drone on a house in Romania
On the night of May 28-29, an unmanned aerial vehicle hit the roof of a residential multi-storey building in the Romanian city of Galați. It is located near the border with the Odesa Region.
Romanian President Nicușor Dan later stated that the russian drone could have fallen on a house in Galați as a result of the actions of Ukraine's air defense, which that night repelled a massive attack on the Odesa Region. At the same time, Dan emphasized that all responsibility lies with russia.
Later, Nicușor Dan published a photo of the wreckage of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), which on the night of May 29 hit a residential apartment building in the Romanian city of Galați.
