Air Force down 55 enemy missiles and 549 drones during large-scale night shelling
On the night of May 24, russian troops launched an unprecedented massive combined strike on Ukraine. The enemy used strike drones, as well as air, sea and ground-based missiles, directing the main strike at Kyiv. This was reported by the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In total, the radio-technical troops recorded a record 690 air attack vehicles, including 90 missiles and 600 strike and reconnaissance UAVs of various types.
For the attack, the invaders used one medium-range ballistic missile from the Kapustin Yar test site in the Astrakhan Oblast, two Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aero-ballistic missiles from the Lipetsk Oblast, and three 3M22 Zircon anti-ship missiles launched from the Kursk Oblast and temporarily occupied Crimea.
Also recorded were launches of 30 Iskander-M and S-400 ballistic missiles from Bryansk, Kursk, and Crimea, as well as 54 Kh-101, Iskander-K, and Kalibr cruise missiles launched from the Vologda and Kursk Oblasts and from the Black Sea. In addition, russia launched 600 drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas attack UAVs, Banderol loitering munitions, and Parody simulator drones. The enemy drones came from Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and occupied Crimea.
As a result of the air battle, aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare and unmanned systems units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed 55 missiles and 549 drones, repelling one of the most powerful air strikes in recent times.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of May 24, russian troops launched a massive ballistic missile attack on the Ukrainian capital.
The massive attack on Kyiv killed one person, injured more than 20, and caused significant destruction in 8 districts.
