SSU, PGO and Internal Security of National Police with assistance of Internal Affairs Ministry detain driver of Deputy Internal Affairs Minister Teteria - sources
The Security Service of Ukraine, the Prosecutor General's Office, and the Internal Security Department of the National Police, with the assistance of Internal Affairs Minister Ihor Klymenko, have detained the driver of Deputy Interior Minister Vasyl Teteria.
Sources in law enforcement agencies reported this to the Ukrainian News agency.
The driver acted as an intermediary in receiving bribes for covering up so-called “porn offices.”
Along with him, law enforcement officers detained Serhii Bezpalko, the head of the Main Department of the National Police in the Ivano-Frankivsk Region, as well as—according to the Ukrainian News agency's sources in law enforcement—his deputy Yatsiuk, the deputy head of the Main Department of the National Police in the Ternopil Region Tkachyk, and the deputy head of the Main Department of the National Police in the Zhytomyr Region Hulevatyi.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, law enforcement agencies detained the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Police, his deputy, the first deputy head of the Ternopil Regional Police, the deputy head of the Zhytomyr Regional Police, and the driver of the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs on suspicion of receiving bribes for covering up the activities of “porn offices.”
The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) and the Prosecutor General's Office are conducting searches at three regional departments of the National Police in connection with the case of covering up the operations of “porn offices.” In exchange for monthly illicit payments, police officials were required to refrain from taking enforcement action, not document violations, not shut down illegal activities, and provide advance warning of potential inspections. Reports regarding the resignation of National Police Chief Vyhivskyi are untrue.
