Yermak released from pre-trial detention center

Former head of the President's Office Andrii Yermak spent the weekend in a pre-trial detention center, where he was placed after the decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court, but today, after posting bail, he left the pre-trial detention center.

His lawyer Ihor Fomin told the Ukrainian News Agency about this.

"Yes, he has already left. He called me," the lawyer said.

At the same time, Fomin noted that he has not yet seen his client.

The lawyer also added that the defense will file an appeal against the decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court to choose a preventive measure for Yermak in the form of detention with a bail amount of UAH 140 million.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, UAH 140 million of bail were posted for Yermak. The High Anti-Corruption Court has taken former head of the Office of the President Andrii Yermak into custody, but has set bail in the amount of UAH 140 million, which he can pay and be released from custody. Yermak complained about the lack of UAH 180 million for bail. SAPO prosecutors are asking the court to seize the diplomatic passport and other passports for traveling abroad from the former head of the Office of the President Andrii Yermak and prohibit him from traveling abroad. The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office is asking the High Anti-Corruption Court to take former head of the Office of the President Andrii Yermak into custody and set an alternative bail in the amount of UAH 180 million.
