On the night of May 15–16, russian forces launched a massive air attack on Ukrainian territory, deploying nearly 300 attack and decoy drones. Air defense forces managed to shoot down 269 enemy drones in various regions of the country.

It was reported by the official Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Air Forces.

According to the military, starting in the evening of May 15, the russian army launched a total of 294 Shahed-type attack drones at Ukraine, including jet-powered models. The occupiers also used "Gerbera" and "Italmas" drones, as well as special decoy drones of the "Parodiya" type. The attack was carried out from a vast number of locations within russia and the temporarily occupied Crimea, specifically from Oryol, Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from Cape Chauda and Hvardiiske.

According to the Air Forces, the large-scale air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile forces, aviation, mobile fire groups, as well as electronic warfare and unmanned systems units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. According to preliminary estimates, as of 9:00 a.m., 269 enemy drones were destroyed or neutralized using electronic warfare systems in the north, south, center, and east of our country.

At the same time, it was not possible to avoid damage entirely due to the extremely high density of the air raid. The military recorded 20 strike drones hitting 15 locations, and debris from downed aerial targets was documented in nine locations. Since combat operations are ongoing in some areas and a certain number of UAVs remain in the sky, citizens are urged not to ignore air raid sirens.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, russia wounded 30 people in the Kherson and Sumy Regions and killed one person in the Kherson Region on May 15.
