Russia used "Parodiya" decoy drones during attack on Kyiv Region - "Flash"
During the attack on the Kyiv Region on May 2, the russians deployed the "Parodiya" decoy drones, designed to divert air defense forces.
Defense Minister's adviser Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov has reported this.
"Yesterday’s UAV attack on the Kyiv Region differed from the usual ones. In several areas, people noticed the unusual appearance of the UAVs. After a prolonged hiatus of several months, the enemy deployed a large number of the "Parodiya" decoy UAVs. It was these that the country’s residents saw," the statement reads.
According to Beskrestnov, the purpose of such a drone is to distract Ukrainian air defense forces, which is why dozens of these UAVs were circling over the territory.
"Many residents therefore heard the sounds of a UAV approaching in the sky. The enemy is constantly testing new tactics for using UAVs; the task of the defense forces is to analyze, study, predict, and, of course, counteract," he emphasized.
In addition, according to the adviser to the Minister of Defense, there was a suspicion yesterday that the enemy was using a copy of a Ukrainian-made UAV, which was not confirmed.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, meanwhile, on the night of May 3, drones attacked a commercial seaport in Primorsk, Leningrad Oblast, where a fire broke out, and flights were temporarily restricted at several russian airports.
In addition, two vessels from russia’s “shadow” oil fleet were struck in the waters approaching the port of Novorossiysk. The operation was carried out by the Ukrainian Defense Forces in conjunction with the Security Service of Ukraine.
