NBU's net reserves decrease for 2nd month in a row, fall by 9.4% to USD 37.1 billion in March

The National Bank's net international reserves in March decreased by 9.4% to USD 37.147 billion compared to the previous month.

This is evidenced by the data of the NBU, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Since the beginning of the year, they have decreased by 14.3% from USD 43.327 billion.

Net international reserves are the difference between gross reserves and the balance of the National Bank's and the Ministry of Finance's debt on loans to the International Monetary Fund.

In March, the NBU's official reserve assets decreased by 5.1% to USD 52 billion, and since the beginning of the year they have decreased by 9.3% from USD 57.302 billion.

At the same time, gross reserve liabilities in March increased by 7.9% to USD 14.853 billion, and since the beginning of the year they have increased by 6.3% from USD 13.975 billion.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2025 the National Bank's net international reserves increased by 48.8% from USD 29.102 billion.

In 2024, net international reserves increased by 2.4% from USD 28.381 billion.

In 2023, net reserves increased by 54.6% from USD 18.322 billion.

In 2022, net reserves decreased by 11.8% from USD 20.767 billion.

In 2021, the NBU's net international reserves increased by 14.6% from USD 18.144 billion to USD 20.767 billion.
