Ukraine and the Netherlands agree on joint production of drones - President's Office

Ukraine and the Netherlands have agreed to start working on the Drone Deal and joint production of drones. It was announced by the Office of the President, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

It is also reported that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of the Netherlands Rob Jetten signed a Joint Statement on the start of work on the Drone Deal and agreed to jointly produce drones.

The Drone Deal between Ukraine and the Netherlands is a strategic initiative that provides for the joint development and production of drones, missiles, electronic warfare systems and other defense technologies.

The cooperation will also cover coordinated investments in defense infrastructure, research, innovation and systematic exchange of operational experience gained by Ukraine in the fight against russian aggression.

The leaders have instructed their teams to work out all the details.

It is noted that from now on, Ukraine and the Netherlands are moving from sustained support to greater integration in the field of defense production, technology and long-term capacity development. The two countries will cooperate to strengthen their defense industrial capabilities and increase production to respond to security challenges. This cooperation should develop into a long-term defense industrial partnership

A license agreement was also signed in the presence of the President and the Prime Minister, which launches joint production of drones.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in December 2025, the then Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal said that Ukraine and the Netherlands would launch joint production of drones, the production will be divided between Ukraine and the Netherlands, and the drones will be purchased by the Dutch side and handed over to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
