The Ministry of Finance is asking ministries, agencies and regional military administrations to submit proposals for budget cuts in 2026.

Oleksii Honcharenko, Member of Parliament from the European Solidarity faction, announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

According to him, this is done to direct resources to the security and defense sector and the protection of critical infrastructure.

The Finance Ministry justifies the proposal by saying that one of the sources of covering the budget deficit is the support of international partners. And Ukraine is still waiting for EUR 45 billion from the EU.
