Zelenskyy agrees with Romania on strategic partnership, energy cooperation and joint production of weapons - President's Office

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has agreed with Romanian President Nicușor Dan to establish a strategic partnership, cooperation in the energy sector and joint weapons production. It was announced by the Office of the President, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Zelenskyy and Dan signed the relevant documents.

The Joint Declaration on the Establishment of Strategic Partnership between Ukraine and Romania defines the priority areas of cooperation in the fields of political dialogue, defense and security, European integration, regional cooperation, trade, transport, infrastructure, agriculture and environment.

The framework agreements on cooperation in the energy sector will strengthen cooperation in the energy sector and provide for the implementation of specific projects in this area, including the construction of an overhead power line between Chernivtsi and Suceava, the commissioning of the Porubne-Siret overhead power line, and the possibility for Romania to use Ukraine's underground gas storage facilities.

The joint statement on Ukrainian-Romanian defense production in Romania lays the political and strategic basis for the production of weapons within the framework of Build with Ukraine, Romania will provide funds for the establishment and operation of an enterprise for the production of Ukrainian weapons, primarily drones, in particular with the involvement of the European SAFE program

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Zelenskyy established the Day of the Romanian Language in Ukraine on August 31.

In December, Romania joined the PURL program.
