US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are scheduled to arrive in Israel on March 10 amid disagreements over strikes against Iran.

The Times of Israel reports this, citing a senior US security official for Channel 12.

According to the media, the visit comes amid disagreements between Israel and the United States over yesterday's Israeli strikes on Iranian oil facilities. The source said that Israel had informed Washington in advance of its plans to strike oil infrastructure, but did not indicate that the strikes would be extensive.

"We don’t think it was a good idea," the official said, adding that the US military had expected a largely symbolic strike and was surprised by the scale of the operation.

Also, the official said, US officials fear that strikes on infrastructure that also supplies fuel to Tehran's civilian population could backfire, particularly by turning public opinion against Israel and the United States.

The source noted that the strikes on the fuel depots were partly aimed at sending Tehran a signal that it should stop targeting civilian targets in Israel. It also points out that the discussion of the strikes so far has been mainly at the military level, without a clear political signal between the governments.

In addition, on Sunday, US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said that the United States would not strike Iran's energy infrastructure.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, meanwhile, amid the fighting in Iran, world oil prices have skyrocketed and for the first time since the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 exceeded the USD 100 per barrel mark.

Meanwhile, US Ambassador to the UN Mike Volz said that russian assistance to Iran, if any, is ineffective and expressed confidence in the appropriate reaction of US President Donald Trump.
