Ukraine receives request from US for support in protecting against Shaheds in Middle East - Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed that Ukraine received a request from the US for support in protecting against Shahed drones in the Middle East region.

He reported this on social networks.

"We received a request from the United States for specific support in protecting against Shaheds in the Middle East region," the message says.

Zelenskyy added that he instructed to provide the necessary means and ensure the presence of Ukrainian specialists who can guarantee the necessary security.

"Ukraine helps partners who help our security, protect the lives of our people," the President summed up.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that he instructed the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Intelligence, Minister of Defense, Military Command and Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council to prepare proposals for supporting states that seek assistance due to the threat of Iranian strike drones.

In addition, Zelenskyy offered to send his best experts to shoot down Iranian drones to the Middle East if the leaders of the countries persuaded russian dictator vladimir putin to agree to a month-long ceasefire in russia's war against Ukraine.

The United States and at least one Gulf state have also discussed purchasing Ukrainian interceptor drones to counter Iran's Shahed drones.

The President said that Ukraine is ready to transfer its interceptor drones to its Middle Eastern partners to combat Iran's Shahed strike drones in exchange for missiles for Patriot air defense systems.
