Based on this winter's experience, we are preparing decisions on restructuring energy supply to communities - Zelenskyy
Based on the experience of this winter, the government is preparing decisions to restructure and upgrade the energy supply of communities. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Based on the experience of this winter, we are preparing decisions on the restructuring and renewal of energy supply to communities, and the corresponding plan for the next heating season will be considered and approved at the national level. Every Ukrainian city, every community that prevented such internal disasters this winter, including Kyiv, has experience that can and should be taken into account throughout Ukraine," he said.
According to an agreement with Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, a coordination center will be established at the government level to systematize the experience of communities.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that the Darnytska Combined Heat and Power Plant was critically damaged during the russian attack on February 3, and it will take at least two months to restore it. At the same time, the mayor provided a list of 1,126 houses in the Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi Districts that cannot be supplied with heat until the damaged Darnytska CHPP is restored.
Vitali Klitschko also said that it is impossible to replace Kyiv's centralized heating system with local heat sources or cogeneration units.
