Toyota Rav-4 becomes leader among new passenger cars purchased by private buyers in January - UkrAutoprom

In January 2026, more than 5,100 new cars were added to the Ukrainian car fleet in the private and corporate sectors of the car market, with Toyota Rav-4 becoming the most popular in the private sector.

This is said in a statement by the UkrAutoprom association, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

The report says that 66% of cars were sold to private customers, and 34% were purchased by legal entities

Compared to January 2025, sales of new cars increased by 20% in the private segment of the car market and by 19% in the corporate segment.

When buying new passenger cars, private buyers preferred the following models: Toyota Rav-4 - 268 units; Hyundai Tucson - 159 units; BYD Leopard 3 - 155 units; Toyota Land Cruiser Prado - 146 units and Mazda CX5 - 126 units.

At the same time, legal entities were in the greatest demand for: Renault Duster - 319 units; Peugeot Landtrek - 73 units; Toyota Land Cruiser Prado - 72 units; Skoda Octavia - 69 units and Toyota RAV-4 - 66 units.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2025, 81,300 new passenger cars were added to the Ukrainian car fleet in the private and corporate sectors of the car market, the most popular in the private sector was Volkswagen ID.Unyx.
