Two FSB agents detained in Kyiv Region who were preparing coordinates for new russian shelling
The counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine detained two more russian agents in the Kyiv Region. At the request of the FSB, they were preparing coordinates for a new shelling of the capital region of Ukraine. This is said in a statement by the SSU.
According to the special service, enemy agents tracked and passed on to the occupiers the geolocation of military units of the Defense Forces, including the location of air bases.
"SSU officers exposed the attackers, documented their work for the enemy, and at the final stage detained them. The SSU also took measures to secure the locations of the Defense Forces that were in the area of the agents' activity," the law enforcement officials said.
The investigation showed that two local drug addicts were involved in the adjustment of the shelling. The attackers came to the attention of the enemy when they were looking for money "for a dose" in specialized groups of Telegram channels.
For the promise of "quick money", the agents traveled around the region by public transport, recording the territory of sensitive facilities on their smartphones.
The adjusters also walked around the perimeters of potential "targets" and took pictures of them from a long distance or filmed them under the guise of a phone conversation.
They sent the collected information to the FSB via messenger.
During the searches, smartphones containing evidence of working for the enemy were seized from the detainees.
Investigators of the Security Service informed the agents about the suspicion of high treason committed by a group of persons in a pre-arranged conspiracy under martial law (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The offenders are in custody without the right to be released on bail. They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Security Service detained an employee of Ukrzaliznytsia who leaked the location of the Defense Forces equipment to the russian invaders in Sloviansk.
