Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has openly expressed support for Ukrainians who illegally cross the border to avoid mobilization. He wrote this on Facebook.

According to Szijjártó, the detention in Ukraine of a Hungarian who helped five Ukrainian men escape only confirms his position. "This case also clearly shows that the war needs to end as soon as possible, and the forced conscription needs to be stopped immediately," he said.

The minister also emphasized that many Ukrainian men are "desperately trying to escape from Ukraine to avoid conscription, and with it, being sent to the front and likely death." At the same time, he noted that the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service "uses all means" to detain violators.

Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that Ukraine was allegedly Hungary's enemy and accused the EU and NATO leadership of preparing Europe for a large-scale war.
