The next round of talks on ending the russian-Ukrainian war will be held without the participation of the main US negotiators - Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

The corresponding statement was made by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Tuesday, January 28, RBC-Ukraine reports.

Speaking in the US Senate, Rubio said that the next round of talks will take place this week. According to him, the meeting will be bilateral.

"There may be a US presence, but it won't be Steve and Jared, and we're trying to move forward," Rubio said.

The US Secretary of State also said that discussing the fate of the Donbas is one of the most difficult stages of the negotiations. Neither Ukraine nor russia has come close to resolving this issue.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 28, US Secretary of State Rubio said that Ukraine and russia have only one issue left to resolve to end the war.

As a reminder, on January 27, the Yevropeiska Pravda media outlet published an interview with Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha. In it, he said that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is ready to meet with russian dictator vladimir putin to discuss the territories and the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.

Last Monday, January 26, Zelenskyy said that the next talks in the United Arab Emirates are scheduled for February 1.
