Tymoshenko says she will not be able to pay bail due to blocked accounts

The head of the All-Ukrainian Union Batkivshchyna faction in the Verkhovna Rada, Yulia Tymoshenko, who is a defendant in the case of bribing parliamentarians, reported the seizure of her bank accounts.

She wrote about this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The High Anti-Corruption Court will choose a preventive measure for Tymoshenko on January 16.

It is expected that the amount of bail will be UAH 50 million.

According to the politician, her accounts were blocked even before the official court decision, which deprives her of the opportunity to pay the assigned bail.

"What is sur? This is when you plan to pay bail in an openly commissioned political case from money received as compensation for political persecution by a narrow-minded "dictator". But you cannot do this, because your accounts were blocked even before the court decision. This is the anti-corruption justice of international swindlers. You, naive, probably think that with such primitive steps you will force me to flee or stop the fight. You are very mistaken! Don't believe me? Ask Yanukovych!" she wrote.

Earlier, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) served Tymoshenko with suspicion of offering an illegal benefit to MPs.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, according to official information from the NABU and the SAPO, the head of the faction offered an illegal benefit to a number of MPs from other political forces for the "correct" vote - support or failure of specific bills in the session hall.
