Russia preparing combined attack and counting on frost to strike at energy sector - Zelenskyy
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned of the threat of a new massive attack from russia and called on citizens to respond carefully to air raid alerts in the coming days. According to intelligence, the occupiers are preparing a combined attack using drones and missiles. He stated this on his Telegram.
The head of state noted that russia plans to use drones to deplete the Ukrainian air defense system and then launch missile strikes. The enemy is making a special bet on low temperatures, trying to cause maximum damage to the country's energy infrastructure.
"There is information from intelligence: the Russians are preparing a new massive strike. Drones to deplete air defense and missiles. They want to take advantage of the cold," Zelenskyy said.
At the same time, Ukraine continues active diplomatic work. The President announced contacts with the negotiating team after consultations with Donald Trump's team. Schedules for further meetings are currently being agreed upon, and some bilateral documents have already been prepared for signing.
Zelenskyy also emphasized that Ukraine has a clear vision of the mechanisms for achieving a just peace, but the kremlin's current position does not indicate a willingness to end the war. According to him, further developments largely depend on the determination of international partners, especially the United States, and all instruments of pressure on the aggressor should remain in force.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Zelenskyy warned about the probability of massive shelling by the russian federation on the night of January 9.
The US Embassy also warned of the threat of a massive russian air attack on Ukraine.
