Ex-head of Kharkiv SSU Dudin released from pre-trial detention center after posting bail, but was detained again
Former head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) Directorate in the Kharkiv Region Roman Dudin released from pre-trial detention center after posting UAH 4 million bail, but he was detained again on new charges.
This was announced by the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The State Bureau of Investigation detained and charged the former head of the Security Service of Ukraine Directorate in the Kharkiv Region while attempting to leave custody on bail.
Dudin paid over UAH 4.2 million, but law enforcement officers charged him with new suspicion - for organizing the illegal seizure of the building of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration and attempting to remove the leadership of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration in the first hours of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022.
His actions were classified under Part 2 of Article 15, Part 1 of Article 109 and Article 341 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
It has been established that the former head of the Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv Region, having information about the conduct of an offensive operation by the russian armed forces on February 24, 2022 on the territory of Ukraine, and being convinced of its success, organized an attempt to seize state power, as well as the seizure of a building that ensures the activities of a state authority, in order to impede the normal work of the institution.
If convicted, the suspect faces a sentence of imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with confiscation of property.
The court must choose a new measure of restraint for him.
