PrivatBank provides Naftogaz with another UAH 5 billion in credit for purchase of imported gas this winter
PrivatBank has provided a new UAH 5 billion loan to Naftogaz Group.
This is announced in the bank's statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The funds will be used to purchase imported gas for a stable heating season.
Additional financing is necessary due to the consequences of russian attacks: part of Ukrainian production was lost.
To stably get through the winter, Naftogaz needs to import 4.4 billion cubic meters of gas with a total value of about EUR 1.9 billion.
This is the second loan provided by PrivatBank to Naftogaz Group.
In July, the bank provided UAH 4.7 billion to form reserves in underground storage facilities.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Naftogaz Group and Polish energy company ORLEN signed an agreement that finalizes arrangements for the supply of 300 million cubic meters of American liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Ukraine in the first quarter of 2026.
