Trump disappointed with Zelenskyy for not having read US peace plan
US President Donald Trump said he was disappointed that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had not yet "read" the peace plan proposed by the United States to resolve the conflict. He made the announcement during a press conference, according to the White House broadcast.
Responding to a question about further steps in possible peace talks between Ukraine and russia, Donald Trump said he was "a little disappointed" with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's position. According to Trump, Moscow had "already agreed" to the peace plan proposed by Washington, while Kyiv had not yet given its consent.
"We've spoken with president putin, we've spoken with Ukrainian leaders, including President Zelenskyy. And I have to say I'm a little disappointed that President Zelenskyy hasn't read the proposal yet. That was as of a few hours ago," the US President said.
Trump said that although russia would ideally like to take over all of Ukraine, it is nevertheless ready to agree to a peace agreement. The American President also noted that Volodymyr Zelenskyy's team supports this document. However, whether the President of Ukraine himself personally agrees with the terms of the proposed peace plan is currently unknown to Trump.
"His team likes it. Russia agrees with it. Russia, I think, would like to get the whole country, if you think about it that way. But russia, I think, agrees with it. But I'm not sure that Zelenskyy agrees with it. His team supports it, and he hasn't read it," Trump said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, US Vice President JD Vance said that relations between Ukraine and russia are a source of constant frustration for the entire White House. According to him, the Trump administration really believed that a russian-Ukrainian war would be the easiest to resolve.
Meanwhile, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, when asked which three people he would invite to dinner, chose US President Donald Trump, russian dictator vladimir putin, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, to "see what happens."
