Drones spotted at nuclear submarine base in France, military uses weapons - Le Figaro
On the evening of December 4, unknown drones were spotted over the Ile Longue naval base in France, and the military opened fire to shoot them down. It is reported by Le Figaro.
Il Long base is a key strategic facility, as it houses nuclear missile submarines of the French nuclear deterrent. In response to the drones, the Marine battalion responsible for the base's security immediately launched a counter-operation and opened fire on the drones.
"Any flight over a military base in our country is prohibited. I approve of the interception by our military at the Il Long base. The investigation is ongoing," said Catherine Vautrin, Minister of the Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs of France.
It is noted that the source and origin of the recorded drones have not yet been established.
Earlier, Putin commented on the situation with unknown drones in Europe and said that there would be no more.
According to the Ukrainian News agency, Munich temporarily closed air traffic because of unknown drones near the airport.
On the night of September 26, the airspace above Aalborg Airport in Denmark was closed due to unknown drones circling the city.
