Kherson CHPP suspends operation after critical damage from russian shelling - Regional Military Administration
A combined heat and power plant (CHPP) in Kherson has suspended operations as a result of recent hostile attacks. Currently, more than 40,500 consumers of the city, covering 470,000 buildings, are without heat. The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin has reported this on Telegram.
According to the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, the civilian facility that provided heat to the city suffered serious damage, including damage to the plant's premises and equipment.
"In recent days, the Russian occupiers have been intensively attacking the Kherson CHPP with drones, artillery and other weapons," the head of the Regional Military Administration wrote.
According to the head of the region, "terrorists are once again fighting against the civilian population," leaving more than 40,500 consumers without centralized heating.
Prokudin said that he was convening an operational meeting in view of the situation. They will consider options for alternative heat supply for those houses that were connected to the CHPP. In parallel, negotiations with partners are underway to provide Kherson residents with electric heaters and other heating equipment.
The city continues to operate the Points of Invincibility. There you can keep warm, charge your phone and contact your family.
The regional contact center also operates: 0800 101 102 and 0800 330 951.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, about 200 residents of the Kherson microdistrict Korabel are still living without electricity and gas, as critical infrastructure cannot be restored.
On November 28, russian terrorist forces attacked the critical infrastructure of the city of Kherson, which resulted in interruptions in electricity and water supply.
