Ukraine is ready to sign peace plan - MP Venislavskyi
The Ukrainian delegation defended the most important interests of the state, which was agreed upon by the American and European partners. This shows that Ukraine is ready to sign a peace plan, said Fedir Venislavskyi, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction, a member of the parliamentary committee on national security, defense and intelligence, Telegraf writes on Tuesday, December 2.
Venislavskyi noted that the points and algorithm have been worked out with the partners, which should be agreed upon in Moscow. According to him, now the ball will be in russia's court, which will demonstrate whether the aggressor country is ready for real peace.
"Our efforts and our reaction to this peace plan have shown that Ukraine is always ready for peace. The fact that we went to Geneva, agreed to some points that may not be very pleasant for us, and defended others, shows that Ukraine is ready to sign a peace plan," Venislavskyi emphasized.
In his opinion, positions that are acceptable to Ukraine and those that are not will now be agreed upon. It will have to be admitted that some occupied territories will remain under the control of the russian federation for some time, since Ukraine does not have the capabilities to regain them now, Venislavskyi said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 2, the Ukrainian delegation reported to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy the details of the negotiations with the United States, which cannot be heard over the phone.
On December 1, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov stated that the Ukrainian delegation managed to achieve significant progress in negotiations with the American side in Florida (USA).
