Zelenskyy dismisses Halushchenko and Hrynchuk from NSDC
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has removed Justice Minister Herman Halushchenko and Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk from the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC). This is stated in Decree No. 845 of November 14, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"In partial amendment of Article 1 of the Decree of the President of Ukraine of July 19, 2025 No. 501/2025 "On the Composition of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine", to remove H. Halushchenko and S. Hrynchuk from the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine," the document says.
The decree comes into force on the day of its publication.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Zelenskyy said amid a corruption scandal in the energy sector that the Minister of Justice and the Minister of Energy should be dismissed and asked the Prime Minister to submit their applications immediately.
On November 12, Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko submitted a motion to the Verkhovna Rada to dismiss Justice Minister Herman Halushchenko and Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk.
On November 10, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) announced that they were conducting a large-scale operation to expose corruption in the energy sector.
On the morning of November 10, NABU detectives came to the house of a businessman, co-owner of the Kvartal 95 studio Tymur Mindich, they also searched the offices of Justice Minister Herman Halushchenko and the Energoatom company.
