Naftogaz fulfils its plan by 100% and accumulated 13.2 billion cubic meters of gas in storage facilities - Koretskyi
Naftogaz Group has accumulated 13.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas in storage facilities and plans to import it additionally due to russian attacks on gas production.
This was announced at a briefing in Ukrinform by Serhii Koretskyi, Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Naftogaz, in accordance with the government's order, has accumulated 13.2 billion cubic meters of gas in underground storage facilities. That is, it has 100% fulfilled the task set by the government," Koretskyi said.
As Koretskyi noted, the Group spent about USD 1 billion of its own funds and about USD 1.5 billion of assistance from partners on gas injection.
This amount of financing was due to the need to increase gas imports due to the consequences of russian attacks on gas production.
The head of Naftogaz estimates its need for funds to continue gas imports at EUR 1.9 billion and added that a significant part has already been secured.
In addition, Naftogaz continues to restore production.
Koretskyi stressed that this process cannot be simultaneous and fast, but it continues constantly.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 28, the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint stock company stated that this night the enemy struck civilian gas infrastructure facilities of the Naftogaz group in the Poltava Region, and that this is the seventh targeted attack since the beginning of October.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the heating season in Ukraine will begin on October 28.
