Ukrainians' bank deposits hit historic high and reach UAH 1,323 billion
The amount of funds placed by individuals on bank accounts in hryvnia and foreign currency, according to preliminary data, increased by 1.6% to a record UAH 1,322.996 billion in September.
This is evidenced by the data of the National Bank, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Since the beginning of the year, the volume of household deposits in banks has increased by 9.1% to UAH 1,212.775 billion.
Hryvnia deposits of the population in banks during the reporting period increased by 2.2% to UAH 886.152 billion.
Deposits of legal entities (hryvnia and foreign currency) increased by 1.3% to UAH 1,503.994 billion in the reporting period.
The average interest rate on hryvnia deposits (monthly average) in the reporting month for legal entities increased by 0.1 percentage points to 10.3%, while for individuals it remained at 10.6%
The interest rate on foreign currency deposits for legal entities amounted to 0.7%, for individuals - 1%.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2024 the volume of household deposits in banks increased by 12.6% from UAH 1,078.346 billion.
In 2023, the volume of household deposits in banks increased by 16.5% to UAH 926.488 billion.
In 2022, household deposits in banks increased by 29.3% from UAH 719.418 billion.
In 2021, household deposits in banks increased by 6.8% from UAH 674.718 billion to UAH 720.932 billion.
