First stage of projects of US-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund being formed - Svyrydenko
Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko said that the US-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund has already started working, and the first stage of potential projects is being formed.
She stated this in social media after a meeting with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
Svyrydenko noted that the fund is at the final stage of launch: "There are still a few important decisions to be made for the Fund to be fully operational, but the first "pipeline" of potential projects is already being formed. We focused on priority projects in the areas of critical minerals, energy and infrastructure."
The prime minister added that the meeting with Bessent was also devoted to the issues of European energy security. "Russia must lose any leverage over our partners and channels of income to continue the war against Ukraine. We have clear proposals on how to do this together with international partners," she emphasized.
Svyrydenko thanked the US Treasury Secretary for his willingness to cooperate with the G7 countries in increasing pressure on russia and the states that continue to buy russian oil, thus financing the war.
In May, Ukraine ratified an agreement with the United States on cooperation in the field of subsoil use and the creation of the US-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund.
As a reminder, Svyrydenko ordered to conduct an audit of subsoil users at strategic fields and restart tenders with the right of the United States to buy out the products.
