Zaluzhnyi comments on rumors about his preparations for elections
Ukrainian Ambassador to the UK and former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi said he does not recognize any ideas of holding elections during the war. He wrote about this on his Telegram channel on Wednesday, October 8.
Zaluzhnyi called the information about his preparations for the elections fake. According to him, the news about this appears in sync with russian propaganda.
"I do not recognize any ideas of holding elections during the war. Anyone who receives an offer from someone who seems to be my name to join any processes through any organization should inform law enforcement agencies. I do not create any headquarters or parties and have no ties to any political force," the Ukrainian Ambassador emphasized.
According to Zaluzhnyi, elections in Ukraine during the war are impossible
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the draft state budget for 2026 does not provide for funding for the elections.
On August 21, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he would be happy if there was an opportunity to hold elections in Ukraine right now.
In June, the head of the parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, said that the Verkhovna Rada is developing a bill to regulate elections after the end of the war of the aggressor country russia against Ukraine.
