Polish Foreign Ministry claims russian drones were deliberately directed into country
The russian drones were directed into Poland intentionally, and did not deviate from the course. The head of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Radosław Sikorski, reported this on X.
"Last night, the airspace of Poland was violated 19 times by Russian-made drones. According to our assessment, they did not deviate from the course, but were deliberately aimed at our territory. Poland, the EU and NATO will not be intimidated and will continue to support the courageous people of Ukraine. It is time for the Russian leadership to understand that the attempt to revive the last empire of Europe is doomed to failure," he noted.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces confirmed the violation of the country's airspace during russia's night attack on Ukraine, and an operation is underway, the purpose of which is to identify and neutralize the objects.
The wreckage of one of the drones that attacked Poland fell on a residential building in the village of Wyryki, Lublin Voivodeship.
Zelenskyy called the russian drones in Poland an extremely dangerous precedent for Europe.
Meanwhile, in early July, 4G modems with Polish and Lithuanian SIM cards were found in the wreckage of russian drones shot down in Ukraine, which indicates that the kremlin is preparing to fly over neighboring countries.
