Poland restricts air traffic along border with Ukraine and Belarus

From September 10 to December 9, Poland will introduce air traffic restrictions along the eastern border with Belarus and Ukraine in the form of a restricted zone EP R129. It was reported by the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA).

It is reported that the EP R129 zone covers the entire border with Belarus and Ukraine.

From sunset to sunrise, there is a complete ban on flights in the EP R129 zone, with the exception of military aircraft. In addition, there is a 24-hour ban on flights by civilian drones in the zone.

After coordination with the on-call operational service of the Air Operations Center - Air Component Command (DSO COP-DKP) at 261 828 202, flights of state aviation and air ambulance may be allowed, as well as flights carried out to provide assistance in cases of threat to the life or health of people or animals, "in particular during natural disasters, catastrophes, environmental threats or emergencies". In addition, flights related to the protection and control of critical infrastructure may be allowed.

PAŻP emphasized that the entry of aircraft that do not meet the exclusion criteria into the active zone is a violation of the provisions of Aviation Law.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces confirmed the violation of the country's airspace during russia's night attack on Ukraine, and an operation is underway to identify and neutralize the objects.

The wreckage of one of the drones that attacked Poland fell on a residential building in the village of Wiryki, Lublin Voivodeship.

Zelenskyy called the russian drones in Poland an extremely dangerous precedent for Europe.

Meanwhile, in early July, 4G modems with Polish and Lithuanian SIM cards were found in the wreckage of russian drones shot down in Ukraine, which indicates the kremlin's preparation for flights over neighboring countries.
