Israel strikes Qatar, where Hamas leadership was meeting
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out precision strikes on the leadership of the Hamas terrorist organization in the Qatari capital of Doha. It was reported by the Al Arabiya and Al Hadath publications on Tuesday, September 9.
Israel attacked Hamas leaders in Doha. The IDF said that it took measures to avoid civilian casualties, for which it used additional intelligence and high-precision munitions.
"The targeted Hamas leaders have been directing Hamas activities for many years and are directly responsible for committing the October 7 massacre and waging war against Israel," the statement said.
Tel Aviv stressed that the attack was supported by US President Donald Trump. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took full responsibility for the airstrikes on Qatar.
"Today's actions against the top terrorist chieftains of Hamas was a wholly independent Israeli operation. Israel initiated it, Israel conducted it, and Israel takes full responsibility," Netanyahu wrote.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on May 17, the Israel Defense Forces announced the start of the first phase of a large-scale operation in the Gaza Strip called Gideon's Chariots.
On August 20, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced its intention to call up 60,000 reservists to attack the Hamas terrorist group in Gaza City.
