EU sends delegation to US to coordinate development of new sanctions against russia

The European Union has sent a delegation to Washington to jointly develop new sanctions restrictions on the aggressor country russia.

According to RBC-Ukraine, the corresponding statement was made by the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa.

Speaking at a joint briefing with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in Uzhhorod, Costa said that more sanctions are needed to force russia to make peace.

According to him, the day before, work began in the European Union on a new package of restrictions against russia. In addition, the European delegation is heading to Washington to coordinate the development of sanctions together with the United States.

"And work is beginning in Brussels on a new sanctions package, and our team, the European team, is heading to Washington to work with our American friends," Costa said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on September 3, the British government announced new sanctions against individuals and legal entities from russia involved in the deportation of Ukrainian children.

Recall, at the end of August, the head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, revealed some details of the new package of sanctions against the russian federation, which the European Union is currently working on.
