NABU director appoints doctor of philosophy as his new deputy
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) director Semen Kryvonos has appointed Roman Osypchuk, who holds a PhD, as his new deputy head of the bureau's internal control. This is evidenced by data on the NABU website, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Osypchuk is 41. In 2021, he defended his thesis and received a PhD in "Administrative and Legal Principles of Preventing Corruption in the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine". He participated in a number of international and national advanced training programs, including training courses of the European Union Anti-Corruption Initiative, the NATO Integrity Building Program, training courses on Singapore's anti-corruption policy, strategic leadership, and cybersecurity. He created and organized the work of the information security unit, in particular, he was personally the leader of projects to develop the National Bureau's IT security.
From August 2004 to October 2015, Osypchuk served in the internal affairs bodies. From October 2015 to September 2025, he was the head of the Internal Control Department of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. From September 2025, he was the deputy director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the director of NABU, who is supposed to fight corruption, was brought to criminal responsibility for bribery. The wife of the NABU director gave the wife of the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration an apartment in Kyiv, and she gave her a dacha [country house] near Kyiv.
