Pensions of 4,000 judges are the same as those of 120,000 teachers and doctors.

This was announced by Danylo Hetmantsev, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction, head of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy, on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"We have repeatedly raised the topic of the injustice of the pension system of Ukraine and the need for its reform. You become even more convinced of this injustice when you delve into the simple figures of pension payment statistics. If we spend UAH 440 million per month on pensions for 4,000 judges, then we spend the same amount on as many as 120,000 pensioners of educators and doctors," the MP wrote.

According to him, if an ordinary person needs to reach 32 years of work experience in order to retire, then judges need only 20 years in office, and prosecutors - 15 years.

An ordinary person can retire after reaching 60 years, and the retirement age for prosecutors is 46 years, for judges - 55 years.

"At the same time, the state also loses the most qualified personnel. Because a person with 15 years of experience is certainly more qualified than a person who comes to work immediately after studying. If an ordinary person receives a pension of 30% of their earnings on average, and now even less than that, then a prosecutor or judge receives 50-70% of their salary," Hetmantsev added.

In addition, according to him, if the pensions of ordinary citizens are simply indexed according to a formula that also needs improvement, then special pensions are transferred in connection with the increase in the monetary support of certain officials.

This does not comply with either the constitutional guarantees of fairness or equality of pension provision.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Danylo Hetmantsev called for the abolition of special pensions and the implementation of pension reform.
