"Long Neptune" shown for first time - it can hit at 1,000 km

The long-range version of the R-360 "Neptune" cruise missile, known under the unofficial name "Long Neptune", was shown publicly for the first time. This missile, capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 1,000 km, was tested back in March 2025 and is already being used to strike the enemy.

The corresponding video appeared on August 24, and was first noticed by the specialized publication Defense Express.

Although the development of the missile has been known since November 2023, no images of it have been made public before. On the Independence Day of Ukraine, the state portal "Zbroya" published a video that probably demonstrates the "Long Neptune" along with other Ukrainian weapons. The footage shows a missile with characteristic X-shaped wings, but it is not named in the video itself.

It is known that the new version of the missile is longer and wider than the anti-ship R-360: the length of the "Long Neptune" exceeds 6 meters, and the diameter of the fuselage has been increased from 38 to 50 cm, which allows it to accommodate more fuel. The wings and tail have also grown to compensate for the greater take-off weight. The characteristics of the warhead have not yet been disclosed.

The state portal "Zbroya", where the video was published, acts as a single brand for Ukrainian weapons and a platform for state services and programs for weapons manufacturers. The portal was created by the Ministry of Strategic Industries, which in July 2025 transferred all powers to the Ministry of Defense.

Recall, footage of the "Flamingo" being tested recently appeared. It is claimed that the missile has already been launched into mass production.

The name of the long-range Ukrainian missile "Flamingo" and its original pink color became an inside joke among the developers about the little-noticed but important role of women in weapons production.
