Ukrainians began to eat more imported cheeses, imports up by almost 15% in 7M
In January-July of this year, cheese imports increased by 14.6% to 22,700 tons compared to the same period in 2024.
This is reported by Agro Times, citing data from the State Customs Service.
In monetary terms, cheese imports in January-July increased by 22.8% to USD 143.2 million compared to the same period last year.
It is noted that the largest number of cheeses were imported to Ukraine mainly from Poland (44.7%), Germany (13.7%) and the Netherlands (8.1%).
In January-July, cheese exports increased by 24.6% to 8,100 tons compared to the same period in 2024.
In monetary terms, cheese exports for January-July increased by 32.9% to USD 37.2 million compared to the same period last year.
The largest buyers of domestic cheeses in January-July 2025 were Moldova (33.8%), Kazakhstan (30%), and Germany (9.1%).
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in January-June 2025, imports of goods exceeded exports by USD 18,512.2 million.
