Senator Graham suggests exchange of territories between Ukraine and russia after security guarantees

American Senator Lindsey Graham believes that in order to end the war between russia and Ukraine, the parties will probably be forced to exchange some of the territories. At the same time, according to him, this is possible only after providing Kyiv with clear security guarantees.

He stated this in an interview with NBC News.

Graham noted that the situation is unlikely to end with the complete expulsion of the russians from all occupied territories or with moscow's offensive on Kyiv.

"There will be some land swaps at the end," the senator said.

He emphasized that such agreements should be accompanied by mechanisms that will prevent a second russian attack. "You need to tell Putin what happens if he does it a third time," Graham added.

The senator also expressed hope that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will be able to join the meeting of US and russian leaders Donald Trump and vladimir putin, which is scheduled for August 15 in Alaska.

Recall that Trump and putin will hold a bilateral meeting in Alaska next Friday, August 15.

According to Bloomberg, American and russian officials are working on an agreement before the meeting between Trump and putin. It will allow russia to consolidate its occupation of several regions of Ukraine.
