Nicaraguan authorities recognize occupied territories of Ukraine as russian

Nicaragua has recognized the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine – the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia Regions – as belonging to the aggressor country of russia. The corresponding statement was made by the co-chairs of the republic, Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo, el19digital reports.

In a letter to russian dictator vladimir putin, representatives of the Nicaraguan authorities expressed support for russian aggression and declared their support for the actions of the russian federation.

"On behalf of the Government and people of Nicaragua, we express full support and recognition of the Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia Regions as an integral part of the territory of the Russian Federation. Accept, dear President Putin, our fraternal embrace and our best wishes for health and well-being to you and prosperity for the Russian people," the message says.

Recall that Nicaragua also previously recognized occupied Crimea as russian and even opened its consulate on the peninsula.
