"Disappointed in Putin." Trump says he will cut russia's 50-day deadline to end war

US President Donald Trump has expressed disappointment with russian leader vladimir putin and said he is going to cut the 50-day deadline he gave russia to reach an agreement to end the war in Ukraine.

He made the remarks ahead of a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on July 28, the White House said.

However, Trump did not name a new deadline.

"I've spoken to President Putin a lot. I was I got along with him very well, but five times, and every time, four times maybe, but we've had discussions, you and I have had discussions, we thought we had that settled numerous times, and then President Putin goes out and starts launching rockets into some city like Kyiv and kills a lot of people in a nursing home or whatever. And I say that's not the way to do it," the US president added.

Recall, on July 14, Trump said that he was dissatisfied with the behavior of the aggressor country russia and was ready to introduce tough economic measures if an agreement was not reached within 50 days to end the war in Ukraine.

At the same time, the head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, stated that Trump should have given putin a shorter deadline for a ceasefire and the start of negotiations with Ukraine.

After that, Trump said that he did not consider 50 days to be "very long" to reach an agreement on Ukraine.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the day before, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Trump was losing patience with the peaceful settlement of the russian-Ukrainian war, since contacts with russian leader vladimir putin "never lead to anything."
